Delegation from the Republic of Benin visits Rio de Janeiro, after a trip to Goiânia, where some details on a business with a Brazilian businessman in the area of transportation were finalized. The delegation of executives from the city of Cotonou, economic capital, is composed by Mr. Léhady SOGLO, head of the delegation, Mr. Aurélien SOGLO and Mr. Mesmer YEOU. Mr. SOGLO, who responds for the delegation, comes from a traditional family in the country, in fact his father was President of the Republic of Benin; his mother is at the Legislative House; and his brother was Minister. Today the Presidency of Benin is occupied by His Excellency Dr Boni YAYI, an economist who worked in the financial sector, a scholar and an active professional, since he achieved a PhD in France and held the presidency of Banks and Boards as the one of BCEAO. Reelected to a second term this year, the President of the Republic, Excellency Dr Boni YAYI, has been working strongly in the relationship between Benin and Brazil. In his work we can already see effective results, as, besides of the investment of Brazilian businessmen, PETROBRÁS acquired 50% of interest in Block 4, located on the coast of Benin. Other works have also been developed in Brazil, like the opening, in Rio de Janeiro, of the CENTRAL CHAMBER BENIN-BRAZIL OF COMMÉRCE, INDÚSTRY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. It is important to note that BENIN is considered as a model of democracy in Africa, because through democratic elections, such as the one that took place this year, its representatives are elected. On this visit to Rio de Janeiro the delegation visited the pacified community of Mangueira, talked to the specialized team of the military police, known as BOPE, with the directors of the school of samba Mangueira and with several community residents, in addition to give an interview to the TV Network Record with His Excellency Consul Dr. Cesar Augusto Maia, representative in the State.
